The Executive Branch authorized the trip of Energy and Mines Minister Jorge Luis Jose Montero to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, from April 23 to 26, 2025.

Likewise, his office has been entrusted to Transportation and Communications Minister Raul Perez-Reyes.

This is stipulated in Supreme Resolution No. 072-2025-PCM, published in the extraordinary edition of the Legal Regulations Bulletin of the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The Peruvian government official will travel on an official mission to participate in the event called "Summit on the Future of Energy Security," which will be held in London on April 24 and 25.

According to the recitals of the regulation, the aforementioned event represents a strategic opportunity for Peru to share its progress, challenges, and vision toward a sustainable and secure energy future.

Similarly, it will facilitate the exchange of strategies on the diversification and sustainability of supply chains for essential minerals in energy transition, aligning with Peru’s National Energy Policy 2010–2040.

It is specified that minister's trip abroad will not incur any costs to the Public Treasury, since the expenses for air tickets and per diem will be covered by the International Energy Agency.

The supreme resolution is countersigned by Cabinet Chief Gustavo Adrianzen.
