18:11 | Lima, Nov. 27.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will allocate the budgetary resources granted to it in fiscal year 2025 towards its objectives of further positioning Peru on the international stage and enhancing services for the Peruvian community abroad.

Minister Schialer participated in the presentation of the
Budget, Indebtedness, and Financial Balance Bills for Fiscal Year 2025 at a Congress plenary session
 on Wednesday.

Within this framework, the high-ranking official detailed that the amount granted to his sector reaches S/1.156 billion (about US$306 million).

Of this amount, S/1.138 billion (equivalent to 98.4%) corresponds to the budget assigned to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and the remaining 1.6% to the Peruvian Agency for International Cooperation (APCI).

Furthermore, the ambassador explained that his sector will allocate S/55.8 million (US$14 million) for public investment.

He indicated that this amount will be assigned to enhancements at the Ministry headquarters, aimed at optimizing the consular services provided, as well as to the digital transformation of this entity.

Regarding the objective of positioning Peru on the international stage, he indicated that a third stage has been reached, after defending the constitutionality and legitimacy of the current government.

This has enabled Peru to regain its "rightful place in the international community."

This is reflected in Peru's consolidation "as a reliable partner in the international community, to defend principles of peaceful and harmonious coexistence," he pointed out.

Regarding the improvement of services for the Peruvian community abroad, he indicated that this is not limited to offering more accessible consular services but also to implementing comprehensive programs that address Peruvian migrants' specific needs.
