Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea indicated that the Chinese Government agreed to boost coordination and cooperation mechanisms for concrete initiatives to benefit Peru.

"I deeply appreciate the hospitality and reception from the Chinese Government and people. Today, I met with Vice-President Han Zheng, with whom we agreed to foster coordination and cooperation mechanisms that lead to concrete initiatives, for the benefit of Peru," he expressed via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday afternoon.

In this regard, the Cabinet member reaffirmed that Peru is prepared to provide all logistical support, security, and adequate preparation in thematic areas to Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum delegations.

As is known, Peru will host the APEC Leaders' Week in November 2024.

"In response, His Excellency, China's Vice-President Zheng, reaffirmed his willingness to collaborate with us to that end, highlighting that this is an emblematic year for cooperation between our peoples," he added.

Moreover, the Peruvian government official emphasized the friendly relations and strong trade ties that both countries maintain, which have been forged during the past decades thanks to the various treaties and agreements signed.

"Peru and China, as Cradles of Civilization, have ancient cultures, which house wonderful historical samples that astonish the world. From the past and towards the future, I see with hope a solid path that I am sure we will walk together," he pointed out.
