to participate in a series of protocol events and meet with their fellow community in Peru.
As part of her visit, Caroit participated —alongside various State authorities— in the inauguration of the new facilities of the Franco-Peruvian School, a symbol of the friendship between both countries.
"It was a beautiful and very emotional event for me. I had seen the Franco-Peruvian School in containers, waiting to be rebuilt. That was just two years ago; I remember there was still uncertainty about how we were going to finance all those works," she recalled about her first visit to Lima.
"These are very important projects with significant funding. There was a great effort by the educational director to secure the necessary funds to finance this project. And thanks in particular to a facility we obtained from the French government," she added.
"That is why, seeing the entire school community —students, teachers, workers—gathered in the new and beautiful facilities, it truly materializes the Franco-Peruvian relationship," said the Franco-Dominican legislator, who is also committed to ocean protection.
On another note, the dignitary expressed that the ties between Latin America and France should be strengthened and reinforced in general.
"I believe we can always do more, as both Peru and France have a lot to offer each other," she noted.
Furthermore, Caroit highlighted that the French community is very active, both in the cultural and economic spheres, with numerous companies from France established in Peru across various sectors.
Investment in Peru
Deputy Caroit also met with Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen, where they discussed various topics of mutual support, as well as conveyed the interest of several French companies looking to invest in Peru.
Being closely connected to France's community in Peru, Eleonore Caroit revealed that she had a very busy agenda.
"There is so much to do here with the French community. We had a meeting with representatives from different sectors of the French community, and I was also able to visit Congress with the Franco-Peruvian Friendship League," she stated.
Moreover, Caroit had the opportunity to meet with France's international volunteers in Peru, whose numbers continue to grow, as well as her fellow compatriots from the French Benevolent Society, which provides aid to their fellow citizens in difficult situations.
Additionally, she visited the Alliance Française of Lima.
According to her, gastronomy is one of the key cultural connections between Peru and France.
"There are many French people here who own restaurants, bakeries, and pastry shops. Just yesterday, I visited Le Cordon Bleu, which is an important French culinary school here in Peru," she concluded.
