Deputy Defense Policies Minister Cesar Torres chaired the non-technical study meeting for the construction of Peru's future spaceport.

Deputy Minister Torres was accompanied by Peruvian Space and Cyber Command Chief, FAP Lieutenant General Javier Tryon Carbone, and U.S. Embassy's Air Attaché, USAF Colonel Joel Andrew Bolina, who led the visiting delegation.

This meeting marked the beginning of a series of activities in which the U.S. delegation will visit the three candidate cities for the construction of the spaceport to assess the terrain and local conditions.

The meeting —held at Peru's Air Force Command Post— was also attended by representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy-Finance, Education, and Transportation-Communications.

Also in attendance were representatives from the National Commission for Aerospace Research and Development (Conida) and the National Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Concytec).
