The President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Boluarte, held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday.

Prior to the meeting, the Head of State signed the UN guestbook at its headquarters in New York City.

"It is a privilege, as Peru's first female president, to thank Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for this meeting. Peru reaffirms its firm and unwavering commitment to strengthening multilateralism and to the universal values that inspire the United Nations," Mrs. Boluarte wrote in the guestbook.

With this meeting, the top official began her third day of activities during her trip to the United States to participate in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Previously, as part of her agenda, the President participated in the UN General Assembly debate.

The Head of State also held a series of bilateral meetings with high-ranking officials, including her counterpart of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

It is worth noting that the Congress of the Republic authorized her to travel abroad from September 15 to 21 to attend the meeting at the multilateral organization.
