Ambassador Raffo highlighted that this gathering reinforces the strong commitment to political engagement between Peru and Ghana, whose diplomatic relations were formalized on June 23, 1987.

In the economic sphere, it was highlighted that bilateral trade reached a record figure of over US$57 million in 2024, emphasizing the need to diversify the range of products, as well as promote trade, tourism, and investment through a working group.
The Peruvian delegation also underscored investment opportunities in the mining sector.
Moreover, both countries expressed their interest in strengthening collaboration through a Basic Technical Cooperation Agreement.
Additionally, possibilities for joint work on combating illicit drug trafficking and developing technical cooperation were discussed.
Lastly, initiatives were discussed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027.
Proposals include the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp and a visit to Ghana by the Peruvian Navy training ship B.A.P. Union, Peru's traveling ambassador to the world.
