The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Thursday called on political parties to seek honest candidates with strong values to participate in next year’s general elections, with the goal of continuing to lead the homeland's future.

The Head of State made this request during her speech at the inauguration of Educational Institution No. 3088 Vista Alegre, located in Lima's Puente Piedra district.

"This week, we called for general elections to be held on April 12, 2026; a process that, through effort, dedication, and the work of electoral authorities and everyone involved, will be a true reflection of the people’s will," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"For the sake of Peru, I call on political parties to work toward finding honest Peruvians with strong values to continue leading the future of our beloved homeland," she added.

Furthermore, the top official called for the broadest possible unity during the electoral period, in which "proposals must prevail over insults."

"I urge responsibility in continuing to build the homeland we all want, for the sake of our children," she stated.

Inauguration

During her speech, the President highlighted that Educational Institution No. 3088 Vista Alegre is the 28th Bicentennial School inaugurated during her administration, providing infrastructure that will benefit thousands of children and adolescents across the country.

"Therefore, we reaffirm our commitment to education, to improving teaching for children and adolescents. This is our mission as President and as mother of a family," she stated.

Moreover, the top official emphasized that in two years of administration, over S/9 billion (above US$2.475 billion) have been invested in educational infrastructure, far more than under previous administrations.

"The more investment in education, the greater the opportunities for Peru to continue growing. This is how we speak in our government, through projects that bring well-being," she added.
