Peru: Congressman Hitler Saavedra dies in Cusco

Parliamentarian Hitler Saavedra Casternoque, from the Somos Peru (We Are Peru) party, has passed away in the Andean city of Cusco, as reported by Alejandro Soto, the legislator representing this region, on Tuesday morning.

The former Congress chairman indicated that Saavedra was in the Imperial City due to a working session in that region.
  
The 46-year-old legislator was found dead in the hotel room where he was staying.

In this regard, Soto requested that the causes of death of the parliamentarian from Loreto region be clarified.

He also extended condolences to Saavedra's family, friends, and parliamentary group.

Hitler Saavedra —a medical doctor by profession— had been serving as chairman of the Congressional Decentralization Commission since August 2024.

Following the announcement, the Congress of the Republic expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of Saavedra.


Likewise, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) lamented the passing of the parliamentarian. Thus, the PCM extended its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
