The Peruvian government official made these remarks after attending the Fourth APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting opening.
"In fact, as of today, we have 20 visiting economies, 21 including Peru, all of which will be present, every single one. However, with Peru included, there will be 16 heads of state, prime ministers, and presidents in attendance," he stated.
The ambassador added that five APEC economies have confirmed their attendance with high-level representatives.
Additionally, the diplomat noted that Peru hopes for consensus approval on several documents it has fostered, as well as the leaders' political declaration, "which sets the path to be followed in the future regarding APEC."
"A document will be adopted that offers a new perspective on the founding aspiration of establishing a comprehensive free trade area, an endeavor we have pursued vigorously since APEC's creation in 1989, and especially since Peru joined in 1998," he stated.
The minister also highlighted the Lima roadmap as another initiative aimed at achieving a transition to formality.
"In all 21 economies, informality was found to exist in varying degrees and proportions; of course, and we are very proud that it (this issue) has been accepted by APEC and is set to be approved soon," he explained.
As part of the Fourth APEC Business Advisory Council Meeting taking place in Lima, the presidency of the organization was transferred to the Republic of Korea, which will host APEC 2025.

Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, the Russian Federation, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United States, and Viet Nam.
Together, they account for 62% of world's GDP, 48% of global trade in goods and services, plus 38% of the planet's population.
