Moroccan Ambassador Amin Chaoudri highlighted the cooperation between his country and Peru. Similarly, the diplomat said he was confident that friendship ties will grow stronger on a daily basis.

This was stated on the occasion of the commemoration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Peru and Morocco.

The respective ceremony was held recently at the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters in Lima. It was attended by high-ranking national and congressional authorities, intellectuals, in addition to diplomatic corps members.

An exceptional exhibition was presented at this event, highlighting the rich history of Peruvian-Moroccan diplomatic ties.

"The ties that unite our two countries are deep and are growing stronger every day. Our commitment to development, cooperation, and mutual respect constitutes the cornerstone of this relationship. With an eye on future horizons, Morocco is fully dedicated to strengthening and expanding its relationship with Peru," the ambassador indicated.

The envoy added that his country aims to become Peru's strategic gateway to Africa and the Arab world, while Peru can become the essential channel linking Morocco to Latin American countries.

"Convinced of the benefits of intensified cooperation, this renewed commitment will propel us toward a shared future of prosperity and sustainability, resulting in tangible benefits for our countries and our nations. United, we are prepared to confront challenges and achieve remarkable successes," Chaoudri indicated.

The Moroccan diplomat announced that the first joint commission for cooperation between the two countries will be held in Rabat on a date to be determined.

This will be an ideal opportunity to further consolidate the strategic partnership and define concrete actions aimed at addressing common challenges and harnessing the opportunities that cooperation offers.

He concluded his speech by expressing conviction that Moroccan-Peruvian relations are set to continue developing in the coming years through strengthened cooperation in key areas such as tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, and security, as well as in the cultural, consular, and educational fields.

In turn, Peru's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Camino highlighted in his speech the excellence of friendship and cooperation ties.

The Peruvian diplomat also cited several examples that illustrate the depth of friendship and cooperation between Rabat and Lima, such as the visit of the Peruvian Navy Training Ship B.A.P. Union to the port of Tangier in January 2024 —an operation that was made possible thanks to the effective collaboration of the Kingdom of Morocco.
