IMF Managing Director confirms participation at APEC Leaders' Summit

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has confirmed her participation at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Summit to be held in Lima this November.

The dignitary confirmed her participation after receiving an invitation from Peruvian President Dina Boluarte handed over by Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea.

Joined by Peruvian Ambassador to the United States Alfredo Ferrero, Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea addressed lines of cooperation in the educational system and digital transformation, as well as the positive impact on future generations in Peru.

The respective teams will take the first coordination steps.


APEC

As APEC's host economy, Peru is in charge of organizing over 160 meetings from the end of 2023 and throughout 2024, in accordance with the forum's work calendar, as well as usual practices and standards.

The activities will conclude with the APEC Economic Leaders' Week to take place in the Peruvian capital, Lima, from November 10 to 16.

Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
