The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday affirmed that Peru's objective at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum meetings is to achieve the empowerment of vulnerable populations.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the launch ceremony of the Google Career Certificates program at the Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

"Since February, meetings of Senior Officials from the 21 (APEC) economies have been held in Lima and other provinces, where social issues are addressed; our objective is to achieve the empowerment of vulnerable populations through sustainable, inclusive, and innovative growth," she stated.

The top official reminded attendees that Peru is hosting the APEC forum for the third time, having proposed various topics, which "are necessary for the comprehensive development of our populations."

Similarly, Mrs. Boluarte underscored that APEC for the People is another Peruvian initiative launched with the purpose of enabling compatriots to learn about the results and importance of meetings of senior officials and ministers from various sectors.

Education

Moreover, the Head of State highlighted that education is the most powerful tool to transform the lives of Peruvians and humanity.

"From the Executive Branch, we continue working so that children and youth can have a quality education; thus, we receive with satisfaction the support from a company known worldwide, Google, so that 5,000 Peruvians over 18 years of age can access training workshops on business projects developed with artificial intelligence," she indicated.

In that sense, Mrs. Boluarte thanked the aforementioned transnational corporation for its interest in Peruvian youth's personal development.

Similarly, the president expressed appreciation to the Foreign Affairs Ministry for achieving this important involvement of the private company.

Additionally, she welcomed the fact that this program has reserved 50% of the scholarships for women, especially those in vulnerable situations.
