Peru's President: We will issue a call for unity and trust in July 28 Address to Nation

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte announced that she will issue a call for unity and trust among all Peruvians during the Address to the Nation to be delivered on Peru's Independence Day Anniversary (July 28) from Congress headquarters.

Mrs. Boluarte participated in the ceremony to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX) on Thursday evening.

"On July 28, we will fulfill the constitutional mandate to provide an assessment of what we have achieved and what remains pending, through the traditional message we will deliver from Congress. It will be a message, and I will not get tired of emphasizing this, that calls for unity and trust," she expressed at the event. 

The Head of State said Peru must stand united and understand that the nation is built by all citizens every day through decisions and actions.

Therefore, she called for practicing dialogue and seeing the common points that allow Peruvians to build an equitable and fair country.

The top official underscored that the situation in Peru is nowadays different compared to the previous year, and highlighted the economic recovery reflected in several indicators.

"Now we can affirm that our country's economic recovery is underway, that our Peruvian Sol (local currency) has been able to recover, consolidating as the strongest currency in the region, and we have the lowest inflation in the region," she emphasized.

Mrs. Boluarte also mentioned that the economy grew 5.04% GDP last May, and exports increased by 23% in the same month, marking the highest growth in 27 months. In that regard, she forecast that Peru might reach a record in exports this year.

"From our Government, dear entrepreneurs, we will continue generating the conditions to expand the reach of your products in the global market," Mrs. Boluarte stated.

"Our goal is to conquer more markets through more free trade agreements, in addition to enhancing those already in force, such as the optimization of the FTA with China that we will sign in November," she added. 

The president concluded her speech calling on Peruvians to celebrate the National Holidays in unity with the confidence that "social peace and collaborative effort will always propel us forward."
