The Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) approved the hiring of the sovereign risk rating service of Standard & Poor's (S&P) Financial Services LLC.

The measure was made official through Ministerial Resolution No. 390-2024-EF/43, published Tuesday in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The recitals of the regulation specify that S&P's work is considered a specialized service indirectly linked to the execution of debt operations and debt management operations.

Additionally, the MEF approved the hiring of the Bancared Private Communications Network Service through a contract with the Peruvian Association of Banks (Asbanc).

Through Ministerial Resolution No. 389-2024-EF/43, also published in El Peruano, it is specified that the specialized service to be provided by Asbanc is indirectly linked to the execution of debt transactions and debt management operations.

In both cases, the MEF's General Administration Office will submit the information related to the contracts to Congress' Budget and General Accounts Commission of the Republic and to the Comptroller General of the Republic within 45 business days following their completion.
