Peruvian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Felix Denegri, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Peru, concurrently based in Chile, George Motlajo Monyemangene.

During the session, the diplomats agreed to energize the bilateral agenda with concrete actions this year, aimed at generating more job opportunities, academic exchanges, and improved services for all Peruvians.

The event highlighted the historic friendship between both countries and confirmed that the II Political Consultations Mechanism Meeting will be held in 2025.

This step will allow for the coordination of projects with clear timelines and responsible parties, making it easier for agreements to reach the country's regions and productive sectors, with an emphasis on linkages for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Priority areas of cooperation include trade and investment, mining, Antarctic science, fishing, sports, and culture, as well as technical and triangular cooperation.

For citizens, this would translate in the future into greater access to scholarships and internships, the transfer of best practices in mining and fishing safety, as well as sports and cultural activities that strengthen the social fabric in various cities across Peru.

South Africa's participation in the 37th Perumin Mining Convention provides a showcase for Peruvian suppliers and promotes business partnerships that could accelerate quality jobs and logistical linkages.

The dialogue also addressed initiatives to facilitate trade and reduce time and costs, directly impacting prices and the availability of goods for Peruvian families.

Lastly, Ambassador Monyemangene and the Peruvian Ministry's Director General for Africa, the Middle East, and Gulf Countries reviewed the bilateral agenda.

They also agreed to maintain close collaboration to consolidate a broad and dynamic relationship.

Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to turn these agreements into tangible results for people across Peru.
