With the goal of strengthening and promoting the Peruvian tourism industry on an international scale, Peru successfully participated in the prestigious ITB Berlin fair, held in Germany's capital, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) reported.

During the event, held from March 4 to 6, the Peruvian delegation primarily showcased the country's living culture through live demonstrations of Shipibo-Konibo art and Chinchero textile crafting, inviting travelers to take part in unique experiences.

Peru's presence at ITB Berlin also stood out for showcasing tourism products and innovative experiences in the nature, culture, and adventure segments.

From tasting a variety of exquisite Peruvian dishes to learning more about its craftsmanship, attendees had the opportunity to explore the South American country's diverse tourism offerings.

This major global platform, which annually brings together tourism professionals from around the world, welcomed 100,000 visitors over the three-day event.

It provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen Peru's image as an authentic, diverse, and sustainable destination, ideal for those seeking unforgettable experiences.

The Peruvian delegation, composed of 23 companies, attracted significant interest from industry professionals and visitors, positioning the country as an outstanding global tourism destination.

Key meetings were held with international tourism industry representatives to strengthen strategic alliances and explore new business opportunities.

The sales potential generated at ITB Berlin is projected to exceed US$12 million, significantly benefiting Peru's tourism sector.

Peru's strong participation underscores the commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), through PromPeru, to promoting inbound tourism.

This sector plays a crucial role in the country's economy, as its positive economic impact extends across all levels of the tourism industry, benefiting not only direct stakeholders but also local communities. This contributes to a more equitable and sustainable development across Peru.
