, which was to be addressed at a Congress plenary session today.
She added that it aimed to achieve greater engagement, interaction, and participation of the Peruvian Government in relevant events that allow for a favorable impact on private investments, the economy, security, among other issues.
"During the day, we have received worrying information (claiming) that some Congress members are being influenced to vote against the authorization for the trip; this situation reveals that for some representatives partisan and personal interests are more important than the interests of our homeland," Mrs. Boluarte stated.
"(…) I tell Alex Paredes that I thank him for his democratic initiative, but given this situation I respectfully ask him to withdraw his reconsideration," she added.
In this regard, the Head of State called for putting put aside particular interests, hatred, and barriers "that separate and divide us."
"I tell the Peruvian people that we will not give in to political calculations; I say we will not give in either to political calculations or personal interests," Mrs. Boluarte stated.
"You will be able to see who is working for the well-being of the country and which politicians are putting obstacles in the way of progress for Peruvians," she underlined.
