The Presidency of the Republic on Tuesday stressed that the Government continues the fight to extinguish forest fires, both by air and land.

In this regard, it specified that the Executive Branch uses different systems to control these incidents, combat their impact, and ensure the safety of everyone.

"From the air, the Bambi Bucket and Guardian systems are key to fighting fires," reads a statement issued by the Presidential Office on the X platform.

It also stated that Peruvian Army personnel, through the Rapid Intervention Companies for disasters, as well as firefighters and others, are in charge of combating fires on the ground, confronting them "face to face."

A series of forest fires have been reported over recent days in various Peruvian regions.

Last Monday, President Dina Boluarte flew over Amazonas region, with the aim of identifying the affected areas and strengthening the intervention efforts in this zone.

Fake news

According to another post, the Presidency of the Republic alerted the population about the dissemination of false information about forest fires in Peru's interior.

These are images circulating on social media and which correspond to forest fires that occurred in other countries over past years, as detailed in the composition accompanying the post.

In this regard, the Presidency's official account called on people not to share inaccurate news circulating on social media.
