The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Tuesday inaugurated the fourteenth Bicentennial School "Educational Institution (I.E.) 3080 Peru-Canada" located in Lima's Los Olivos district.

In her inaugural address, Mrs. Boluarte reaffirmed that 2024 is the year of the country's economic recovery, adding that figures are confirming it.

Last July, GDP accelerated and reached a 4.5% growth, one of the highest rates this year.

In this regard, the top official explained that this strong economic expansion is largely due to the boost that the Government has been giving through greater public works execution, which has a positive impact on Peruvian families' well-being.

"This boost has been achieved thanks to the improved performance of the construction sector, with an increase in the progress of (public) works by more than 30%. And what does that mean, dear students? It means more demand for labor, that is, more Peruvians with jobs," she said.

The president indicated that Peru's public investment grew by 25% from January to August, marking eight consecutive months of expansion.

In August alone, Peru's national, regional, and local governments invested S/4.525 billion (about US$1.197 billion) in infrastructure projects execution.

"This shows that when authorities work together, we can make firm progress in closing social and infrastructure gaps," she underlined.

It should be noted that the construction of the I. E. 3080 Peru-Canada entailed an investment of S/82 million (about US$21.69 million) for the benefit of over 1,800 students at preschool, primary, and secondary levels.

The new educational institution will feature innovation classrooms, creative and job-related education workshops, a library, and a science-technology laboratory.
