Peru: Presidency highlights economic recovery due to 5.28% GDP growth

The Presidency of the Republic on Monday underscored Peru's economic recovery supported by 5.28% GDP growth registered in April 2024.

Via social media, the Presidential office stressed that this advancement represents the highest inter-annual rate since September 2021.

"Our economy is recovering and exceeding expectations! In April, GDP grew by 5.28%, which represents the highest interannual rate since September 2021," it underlined in a message posted on the X platform.


Peru's GDP grew 5.28% last April supported by the following sectors: Agriculture; Fishing; Manufacture; Construction; Electricity, Gas, and Water; Transportation, Storage, and Courier; Trade; Telecommunications; Services Provided to Companies and Other Services, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported.

Between January and April 2024, economic activity grew 2.38%; in the annualized period (May 2023-April 2024) it rose 0.30%, the entity highlighted.
