Cusco expects to welcome around half a million tourists —both domestic and foreign ones— in June, considered the Imperial City's Jubilee Month, during which time the good weather and vast living culture can be enjoyed.
"The economic side will rise, but we have to see clearly that we must continue fighting against insecurity and informality; it is a task that we are taking on for the sector jointly with the labor management section," he underscored referring to the accelerated interest in economic reactivation.
Vast heritage
Meanwhile, in the City of Cusco, the living culture will be appreciated to its fullest, as hundreds of presentations involving music, dances, and indigenous artistic expressions will be performed by children, school students, teenagers, adults, and older adults from this metropolis, as well as from the highlands' provinces and this region's jungle area.
2025
Caipani announced that by 2025 the path might be paved for a good development of the tourism sector due to Machu Picchu's (increased) visitor capacity and the Chinchero International Airport execution.
"We have to work on action protocols. If we do not have contingency plans, unfortunately, (…) the whole chain might fall apart," he noted.
