Peru: President highlights progress in fulfillment of regional government agreements

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday highlighted the level of progress and fulfillment of the commitments or agreements established between the Executive Branch and regional governments.

Mrs. Boluarte inaugurated the Fourth Regional State Council in Lima. Within this framework, she noted that the corresponding progress ranges between 50% and 96%.

The top official indicated that there is an "absolute commitment from the Government to every region of the country."

She said the objective pursued by her administration is to ensure sustainable growth nationwide and "thus leave behind decades of oblivion and postponement for our compatriots."

Concrete Results

Regarding the outcomes of the three previous Regional State Councils, the president noted that there has been 96% progress in the agreements reached at the first meeting.

Similarly, she reported that 75% of the commitments made at that gathering have been fulfilled.

Regarding the Second Regional State Council, Mrs. Boluarte indicated that 50% of those commitments are being fulfilled. She added that the established agreements experience 94% progress.

Meanwhile, the commitments from the Third Regional State Council are being fulfilled at 80%. In turn, the adopted agreements register 75% progress, she indicated.

Among the topics that have materialized from those meetings, Mrs. Boluarte highlighted the National Territorial Planning System creation; the Chavimochic III project execution; and the potable water megaproject implementation in Juliaca, Puno region; among others.

During her speech, the president also called for putting aside differences and personal interests between the Executive Branch and regional authorities.

"Let's focus on what unites us: the well-being of our population," Mrs. Boluarte said.

"I urge everyone present to continue working diligently and with commitment, thinking about the common good," she added.
