At the Seoul Food 2024 fair —one of the most important of its kind in Asia— Foreign Affairs Minister Javier Gonzalez-Olaechea inaugurated the Peruvian pavilion, which reunites 12 companies from the South American country.

The Foreign Affairs sector's head noted that this event brings together high-quality South Korean buyers, decision-makers, and industry experts looking for premium products, global industry trends, and future business ideas.

He underscored that Peru is participating for the tenth time in this event, adding that its continued presence grants better visibility of our products before potential buyers.

Similarly, it strengthens our country's positive image as a leader in high standards of food, safety, and quality.

On this occasion, Peru presents a variety of superfoods made up of fruits, grains, and vegetables.

It is worth mentioning that Peruvian participation is organized by the Trade Office in Seoul, supported by the Peruvian Exporters Association (ADEX) and Embassy in South Korea.

Minister Gonzalez-Olaechea also inaugurated the "Qhapaq Ñan: The Great Inca Trail" photo exhibition at the Latin American Cultural Center and Museum, located in the South Korean city of Goyang.

The Peruvian government official thanked Cultural Center Chairman Lee Bok-hyung for his dedication and enthusiasm to work jointly in the creation of this special exhibition that publicizes this extensive communications network existing in the Andes, in the challenging Peruvian geography.

At the ceremony, the dignitary reminded attendees that the Qhapaq Ñan is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, which was achieved thanks to an unprecedented joint presentation with Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, and Ecuador.

The minister said this exhibition will be of great interest in a country like South Korea, where walking is a widespread practice.

Lastly, he indicated that this exhibit allows the South Korean population to learn about the multiple opportunities for this adventure activity in Peru towards sites of such historical value as Machu Picchu or Choquequirao.
