Peru to host international meeting against terrorism

Peru will host an international meeting against terrorism which will gather delegations from several countries on April 12 and 13 in Cusco, located in Peru’s southeastern region, head of Peruvian National Police, Raul Salazar said on Sunday.
This event is organized under the Amazon project by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and will be held in the auditorium of Sacsayhuman fortress, in Cusco.

Peru was chosen to host this event for “the results it has obtained in the fight against terrorism in the last six months and because Peru has become a country that leads the war against terrorism worldwide,” Salazar explained.

Salazar noted that this meeting will allow strengthening international cooperation which is being promoted by Interpol through experience exchange of police institutions from the 194 member countries that make up this organization.

So far, delegations from 21 countries around the world have confirmed their participation.
