Peru's Grande wins bronze at Karate tournament in Dubai

Peruvian Alexandra Grande ended third and grabbed bronze medal at the Karate1 Premier League - Dubai 2018.

The sporting event took place in the United Arab Emirates on February 16-18.

The 28-year-old participated in five fights included in the Female Kumite's 61 kg category.

In this sense, she managed to defeat Belgium's Nele De Vos (1-0) and Kosovo's Adelina Rama (1-0). 

Later, the national sportswoman drew with China's Xiaoyan Yin (3-3). However, the Asian competitor was declared the winner of such fight as she became the first to have scored a point. 

Finally, Grande edged out Sweden's Alexandra Haag (1-0) and USA's Joane Orbon (3-2) in the repechage pool, thus grabbing bronze at the contest.

As is known, the Peruvian has been ranked among the top karatekas in the three competitions she has joined so far this year. 

Grande is an outstanding athlete who belongs to the Top Peru Lima 2019 Pan American Games team.
