President Martin Vizcarra on Friday visited Ubinas district —in southern Moquegua region— to deliver 70 warm houses that will protect families from cold temperatures.
"We are working intensively throughout Peru to set up measures that improve citizens' life quality (…)," the statesman pointed out.
"Some solutions can cost a lot of money, like a highway; but others do not, such as warm houses that protect families from low temperatures," he added.
"We need many more (homes). I would like to come back next year and say we have built 1,000 homes. We will work on that," the Peruvian leader said.
It must be noted the Peruvian Government handed over 70
warm houses in Moquegua's Mariscal Nieto province last March.
This regional initiative entails an investment worth S/1.387 million (about US$424,000).
On the other hand, the Head of State announced the Government will implement a project aimed at optimizing the use of water in Andean regions.
