Peruvian Ambassador Thierry Roca-Rey Deladrier presented credential letters to Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

Such credentials recognize the appointment of Roca-Rey Deladrier as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to said European nation.

On the occasion, the hosting country's President and the diplomat addressed the relations uniting both nations, which date back to June 1997. 

Affairs included negotiations on bilateral agreements, perspectives on economic cooperation, the region's situation, cultural and scientific exchanges, plus other matters of common interest.  

For her part, the Lithuanian President stressed the importance of exploring new possibilities for economic cooperation, the appointment of an Honorary Consul to the European nation, as well as the visit of an Inca business mission scheduled for May.

The latter will contribute to strengthening economic ties binding both nations. 

Afterwards, the envoy held a working meeting with Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Albinas Zananavicius.

During said gathering, they discussed the development of bilateral relations and economic cooperation, among other topics.

It must be noted Thierry Roca-Rey Deladrier is Peru's seventh Ambassador to Lithuania. The envoy concurrently serves as Ambassador to Estonia and Latvia, and he is currently based in Helsinki (Finland).
