16:32 | Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Mar. 15.
Brazilian team Flamengo FC has decided to reactivate Peruvian top striker Paolo Guerrero's contract, which had been suspended since end-2017 —when the player was sanctioned by FIFA.
"As we always have said, we count a lot on the player. People believe in his innocence and wait for his return starting on [March] 20," Lomba expressed.
"As for the trial, it will probably come to an end in the following days, but without a specific date," he added.
FIFA suspension
Later, the governing body reduced such suspension to six months —a decision which might allow the athlete to
play the 2018 World Cup.
According to Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF), the forward will be allowed to train with the national team on March 20, but he will not be authorized to play any
official match thru May 4.
