Peru's gold exports volume amounted to 493,000 troy ounces in May, the country's Central Reserve Bank (BCR) informed on Sunday.
In this context, May's figure represented an 11.2% increase over the same month last year.
Greater foreign sales were made by Yanacocha (+1.8%), Barrick (+53.4%), Aurifera Retamas (+2.3%) and Aruntani (+275.1%).
Lastly, the issuing entity remarked that the value of Peru's gold shipments accounts for nearly 17% of total sales overseas.
Exports
According to the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE), accumulated
January-April 2017 gold exports totaled US$2.323 billion. The figure meant a 3.1% rise over the same period in 2016 (US$2.254 billion).
